Leadership
The Daily Princetonian
As the Editor-in-Chief of The Daily Princetonian, I was responsible for daily operations and strategic planning for a staff of 200 students at a 24/7 news organization. A key part of my job involved establishing, enforcing and defending standards of professional and ethical conduct among staff and editors. Below are several "From the Editor" columns I wrote during my term:
-
A student newspaper, not the students' newspaper (Jan. 13, 2013)
-
We're keeping anonymity (Dec. 14, 2012)
-
Can we talk? (Sept. 18, 2012)
-
Why we cover crime (April 3, 2012)
-
Letter from the Editor (Feb. 6, 2012)
Friends of The Spoke
I am the co-founder of Friends of The Spoke, a student press advocacy organization formed in 2009 in response to efforts by the Tredyffrin-Easttown School District in Pennsylvania to censor The Spoke, the award-winning newspaper where I served as editor-in-chief. The campaign, which lasted for five months, resulted in the district dropping its attempt at censorship.
